AdComp Memos

Internal notes on
scaling paid growth

Short weekly memos on D2C, e-commerce, and performance marketing — written for operators making real decisions. Not theory. Not hype.

What you'll get

Each memo is short, focused, and written from inside active accounts

Most brands don't struggle because ads stop working. They struggle because too many things work at once — and it becomes unclear what actually matters. AdComp Memos exists for that phase.

How paid channels interact at scale
Where brands misread performance signals
Why "working" systems still create friction
What breaks first as spend increases
How operators simplify decisions under pressure
Patterns we see across 15+ active accounts
This is
  • A thinking layer for brands not ready to act yet
  • Observations from live campaigns and real data
  • One focused idea per week, nothing more
  • Written by operators, not content teams
This is not
  • A newsletter with promotions
  • A growth hack feed
  • A case study library
  • A pitch disguised as content

Here's what a memo looks like

February 2026
The dashboard says 3x ROAS. The bank account disagrees.

This happens more often than anyone admits. The ad manager shows healthy returns, the client is happy with the numbers, and then the monthly P&L lands.

The gap is almost always attribution. Platform-reported revenue includes view-through conversions, repeat purchases that would've happened anyway, and orders from campaigns that touched the customer but didn't cause the purchase.

Here's what we check first when the numbers don't reconcile: the attribution window settings, the deduplication logic between platforms, and whether the pixel is firing on the right events...

One memo. Once a week.

If you're looking for quick tactics or guarantees, this probably won't be useful. If you want to think clearer about growth, it might be.

No spam. No promotions. Just memos.
